Local punk trio The Chelsea Kills just released their first new material since 2013‘s Pulp Culture, with a single called “Toe The Line.” The song boosts up the band’s pop sensibilities with melodic hooks and shimmering, spacey guitars, while vocalist/guitarist Sam Mercurio addresses coming face-to-face with doubt. The track is pretty melodic, but a punchy bass and a layer of fuzz keep it rough around the edges along with twisted, metaphorical lyrics. Ultimately, this memorable single leaves you itching to hear more of what was recorded at The Headroom Studios with Hop Along‘s Joe Reinhart.
