Local art/indie rock band The Chairman Dances recently released a cover of Wilco‘s take on Woody Guthrie’s “Someday, Some Morning, Sometime,” and announced a free show at Victory Beer Hall on December 11th in South Philly. The cover stays true the hopeful melancholy of the original, seemingly giving the same feeling as seeing the sun break through black clouds, as vocalist Eric Krewson’s comforting voice and layered guitars guide the song to a soft climax.
The band also recently announced that they will be recording an EP this winter with Daniel Smith of Danielson, who has worked with Sufjan Stevens, mewithoutyou, and Jad Fair. Be on the lookout for that, and in the meantime stream their Wilco cover and latest full length album below.
